County hires jail contractors to oversee construction

      Santa Rosa County Jail will soon be under construction with an addition to provide 128 more beds. County commissioners approved an architectural firm to begin work on a plan, and a construction management company that will hire contractors and oversee the work.

MFD commissioners consider terminating five in May

      Midway Fire Commissioners are working hard to right the ship that is the Midway Fire District (MFD). In an effort to keep the special taxing district afloat, commissioners are considering the termination of five employees by May 1, saving the district approximately $125,000.
