A Sunday of Soundside Splendor

The mission of the Chil- dren's Home Society was the focus of an elegant soundside affair Sunday at Portofino Resort.

The Sunday of Soundside Splendor offered a pristine view of the Sound from the Portofino pool deck, on a crisp cool March day. Music entertained as the wine offerings were sampled and attendees mingled amid the sumptuous appetizers provided by Jim Shirley of the Fish House.

Wines were provided by the Stacole Fine Wine Company for tasting paired with the food.

The event was a fundraiser for the Children's Home Society of Florida, the Western Division of which offers 12 programs, including adoption, foster care, prevention services, education services, counseling services and in-home intensive intervention services.

In 1920, the Western Division of CHS opened in Pensacola to serve children and families residing in the panhandle area. Each program is designed with one goal mind: to protect children through preserving and strengthening families.

A live auction featured extravagant gift baskets that went for thousands of dollars, all for the benefit of Children's Home Society. The next event for CHS will be a live auction on April 18 at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, coupled with the Children's Invitational Golf Tournament that same weekend.
