Wave wins preseason tourney

Wave rolls again The U10 Gulf Breeze won its second consecutive tournament Sunday, winning the GBSA Preseason Classic. The Gulf Breeze Wave went 4-0 to win the Niceville ASP Preseason Classic Feb. 23-24.

Wave 15,

Panama City

Bay Bombers 2

Chance Dyer went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and scored three times as the Wave won the title game over the Bombers.

Zane Gill, who struck out four in the complete game win, added two hits with two runs scored and a run batted in, as did Julian Gordon. Jace Amberson scored three times, while Sam Joyce scored twice.

Wave 9, Destin Heat 1

Dyer and Gordon combined on a two-hitter and 11 strikeouts.

Gill went 2-for-3 and scored once, while Amberson and Gordon both scored twice.

Wave 6,

Navarre/Tiger Pt.

Marlins 1 Gill hit a two-run homer, as the Wave beat the Marlins.

Wade Niles had two hits, including a triple that was followed by Gill's homer. Dyer, Adam Colston, Parker Baynes and Xavier Arant all singled and scored once.

Wave 6,

Okaloosa Co. Crushers 5

Dyer's two out single scored Gill for the game-winner over the Crushers.

Dyer scored twice in the win, while Niles, Gordon and Matthew deMahy all singled and scored once. The Wave, along with the U8 Storm and the U14 Dolphins won the GBSA Preseason Classic Sunday. Look for a recap of that tournament in the March 13 issue of the Gulf Breeze News
