GBSA basketball season comes to a close

The 2008 Gulf Breeze Sports Association's basketball league concluded Feb. 23-24 with the postseason tournament at the Rec Center.
Champions were crowned in seven ages groups - from the 7-8 year old boys and girls divisions to the 13-14 year old boys division.
13-14 boys Final
Byrne 33, Castleberry 31
Taylor Webb's nine points lead Byrne to the title over Castleberry.
Mark Highley added six points, while Hunter Byrne had five, Colin Brewer and Chase Perdue four each, Alex Pagonis three and Hayden Davis two.
Allen Wang's nine points led Castleberry. Patrick Roane added eight points, while William Farmer had four, Taylor Castleberry, Bobby Radcliffe and Reid Torgerson three each and James Mozur one.
Third place
Kuhn 33, Custred 28
Nick Romjue had 15 points, while Luke Cunningham had 14 to lead Kuhn in the third place game.
Jacob Doyle and Cooper Stock added two each.
Alec Chavis had 10 points to lead Custred. Chris Kessler added nine points, while Bryce Wein had four, Harrison Rhodes and Chance Wallis two each.
11-14 girls Final
Welsh 24, Newell 10
Natalie Welsh's six points led a balanced scoring attack for Welsh in the title game over Newell.
Kalee Bogan, Samantha Welsh, Savannah Deloach and Sarah Tolan had four each, while Cristina Ferrara had two.
Elizabeth Hoehn and Katie Bowyer had four each for Newell, while Abbey Olsen had two.
Semifinals
Newell 24, Riney 22
Bailey Trzcinski had eight points for Newell, while Katie Bowyer had five, Abbey Olsen and Elizabeth Hoehn had four each, Cate Hodges two and Kerrie Shaw one.
Laura Riney had six points for Riney, while Natalie Neff, Bailey Clements and Torie Gray had four each and Alex Karcher two.
Welsh 25, Brown 21
Sarah Tolan had 10 points for Welsh, while Natalie Welsh and Savannah Deloach had six each, Kalee Bogan two and Samantha Welsh one.
Michelle Brown had nine points for Brown, while Anne Marie Schultz had six and Abigail Friedland, Mary Kate Campbell and Richelle Czeck two each.
First round
Newell 35, Munsch 16 Kerrie Shaw had 11 points for Newell, while Bailey Trzcinski had 10, Katie Bowyer six, Cate Hodges four and Abbey Olsen and Elizabeth Hoehn two each.
11-12 boys Final
Hayes 34, Hoskins 33
Pete Hayes had 13, while Nathan Theorgood had 11 to lead Hayes over Hoskins in the championship game.
Connor Bray and Hanson Theis had four each in the win, while Connor Harris had two.
Nate Hoskins had 12 points for Hoskins, while Chad Wise had nine, Ben Hoskins six, Sam Hoskins four and Bryce St. Ores two.
Semifinals
Hayes 28, Newell 19
Connor Bray's eight points lead Hayes over Newell.
Connor Harris and Pete Hayes had six each, while Nathan Theorgood had five and Ashley Williams three.
Jack Costello had eight points for Newell, while Tyler Olsen had four, Blake Myers three and Austin Garrett and Hank Newell two each.
Hoskins 29, Mink 26
Nate Hoskins had 14 points for Hoskins, while Chad Wise had five, Sam Hoskins four and David Brayton, Bryce St. Ores and Ben Hoskins two each.
Nick Kozbiel had nine points for Mink, while Austin Poling seven, Michael Neal six and Tyler Fisher four.
First round
Mink 33, Flake 10
Nick Kozbiel scored 22 points to lead Mink over Flake.
Austin Poling had six points in the win, while Michael Neal had four and Hunter Davis one.
Danny Gill and Mac Pewiit had four each for Flake, while Slaye Simon had two.
9-10 girls Final
Crowdis 11, Radcliffe 8
Savannah Nixon scored eight points to lead Crowdis in the title game.
Kathrin Hess had two points, while Lacey Deloach had one.
Kylie Finkbone, Michelle Barrineau and Madison Passey had two each for Radcliffe, while Jessie Droogsma and Emily Radcliffe had one each.
Third place
Clark 16, Rockett 10
Victoria Hardman had six points for Clark, while Paige Van Tassel had four and Megan Pewitt, Juliette Reddon and Alexa Clark had two each.
Emily Branco had six points for Rockett, while Isabella Cody and Isabella Espencheid had two each.
9-10 boys Final
Mungai 21, Argentine 20
Jace Mungai had 10 points to lead Mungai to the title over Argentine.
Brai Royer-Blisset had eight, while Owen Hayes had two and Logan Smith one.
Joshua Argentine had 12 points for Argentine, while Zachary Bingham had six and Justin Keene two.

Mungai 37, Proctor 14
Brai Royer-Blisset had 12 points, while Logan Smith had 10 for Mungai as they advanced to the title game.
Owen Hayes and Jace Mungai had four points each for Mungai, while Malcome Landrieu and David Carbaugh two each and Will Green one.
Argentine 14, Barham 13
Joshua Argentine had six points for Argentine, while Joshua Hartley, Nicholas Valletto, Zachary Bingham and Justin Keene had two each.
Blake Fournie had 10 points for Barham, while Alex Barham had two and Timothy Durst had one.
First round
Barham 26, Crowdis 23
Blake Fournie had 10 points for Barham, while Christopher Cody had seven, Alex Barham four, Bryce Johnson three and Timothy Durst two.
Riley Nolan had 11 points for Crowdis, while Michael Flake, Corey Nolan and Tyler Phelps had four each.
7-8 girls Final
Curington 24, Karcher 4
Rainey Niles had eight points for Curington, while Avery Curington had six, Macy Hicks four and Victoria Brown two.
Grace Hoskins and Alyssa Scott had two each for Karcher.

Hepworth 5, Taylor 2
Olivia Hepworth had three points for Hepworth, while Sophia Sanchez-Avilles had two.
Ashley Keveison and Ansely Segal had one each for Taylor.

Sheppard 24, Hawkins 18
Cole Sheppard and Connor Thompson had eight each for Sheppard, while Daniel Green had six and Reid Binion two.
Nicholas Myers had 14 points for Hawkins, while Daniel Brayton and Dylan Brayton had two each.

Cole Sheppard had eight points for Sheppard, while Chance Napier had six, Connor Thompson four and Casey Warford two.

Nicholas Myers had 13 points for Hawkins, while Dylan Brayton and Joseph McPhetridge had two each.
