LOUIS FRANCIS MARTIN, JR. 1924 - 2008

Louis Francis Martin, Jr., passed away Monday, February 25. Born May 10, 1924 in Gulfport, MS, he was raised in Pass Christian, MS.

Louis joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II and then transferred to the Air Force where he served in the Korean War. He retired from his military service in 1965 and settled in Gulf Breeze, FLwhere he lived with his beloved of 53 years.

Louis was preceded in death by his daughter Jane Ann Martin. Louis is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Nancy and son-in-law Jim, granddaughters Mary and Sarah Cooper, and two sisters Joy Blume and Peggy Egan.

The family received friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Fla. Family and friends may view the tribute for Louis at www.roselawnfh. com

Funeral services were held at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 29, with Father Al Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Jane Ann Martin Scholarship Fund, St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, Gulf Breeze, FL.Pallbearers will be sonin law Jim Cooper, Richard Cooper, Mark Ross and Brian Maloy.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Bay Breeze Retirement Center for the loving care they provided. Also a very sincere thank you to the family of churchgoers at St. Francis for all their love and support during Louis's illness.
