Joseph 'Jody' Kirk Harrington

Joseph "Jody" Kirk Harrington passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, Florida on February 14th, 2008, due to injuries received in an automobile accident. Joseph was born in Marietta, Ga. on June 27, 1972 and lived his young life in Roswell, Ga., where he graduated from Roswell High in 1990. He attended DeKalb College in metro Atlanta and the American School in Paris, France. Jody was an avid outdoorsman and had a long association with High Meadows camp in Roswell as a camper and a counselor, where he made life-long friends. Joseph moved to Pensacola in 2001 to be near his parents.

Joseph's contagious laugh, crazy sense of humor, quick wit and kind heart will always be remembered. He was an artist and horticulturist and his love of nature is evident in his beautiful home in Pensacola. Joseph's parents, partner, relatives and friends were blessed to have him in their lives. He will always be with us, forever 35 years old.

Joseph was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Frances and Alex Harrington, and Grandfather James W. Kirk, Sr. who were long-time Marietta, Ga. residents. Left to cherish his memory are his Mother and Father, Judy and Dan Harrington, Gulf Breeze, FL, long-time partner Christopher Hopkins, Pensacola, Grandmother Helen Kirk-Baker, Cartersville, Ga., aunts and uncles Jane and Bob Harris, Marietta, Bill and Barbara Kirk, Jacksonville, FL, Buddy and Joyce Kirk, Marietta, Gail and Mike Harrington, Dunwoody, and Irene and Tom Harrington, Paris, France, as well as 13 cousins and two god children.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL. with Reverend Sanders officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Rose Lawn Funeral Home
