Remembering a fallen teammate

What more could a coach ask for? Those were some of the words spoken by former Lady Dolphin softball coach Mark Ransom (above) about Emily Hodgson, a three-year starter from 2003-05, who died of a brain aneurysm last June. Her jersey was retired in a ceremony Feb. 12 at the GBHS Media Center. Left: Emily's parents Nan and Larry Hodgson listen. The Hodgsons were in town from Ohio last week. We'll never forget From left: Katie Clay, Kaitlin Weeks, Chelsea Takacs and Chelsie Biggs pose with a framed jersey of Emily Hodgson's last week. The quartet played at least two seasons with Emily on varsity, with best friend Weeks playing for three. The jersey will go home with the Hodgsons in Ohio.
