Lady Dolphins get no-hit twice
Choctaw's Michael, Pace's Neal shut GBHS down, play at Milton Tuesday

The Lady Dolphin softball team ran into a wall last week in the form of Choctaw and Pace.

Gulf Breeze was held hitless in a 3-0, eight-inning loss to Choctaw Feb. 10 and lost 12-0 in five innings Thursday at Pace. Choctaw 3, Lady Dolphins 0

Choctaw's Miranda Michael struck out 20 and walked only two as the Lady Indians used a pair of bloop singles to score three in the eighth.

Gulf Breeze had a chance to win in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Rosie Atkinson walked and stole second, but Michael struck out the next two to end the threat.

A Deannette Zuniga walk in the first accounted for the Lady Dolphins only other baserunner. Anna Schundelmier and Alison Milam (groundouts to pitcher) and Claire Koontz (grounded out to third) were the only batters to put the ball in play.

Pace 12, Lady Dolphins 0

Katy Neal threw a no-hitter for Pace, striking out 13, Thursday in Pace.

Koontz and Natalie Alverson drew fifth inning walks, spoiling Neal's chance at a perfect game. The Lady Dolphins committed seven errors in the loss.

Choctaw 1 (four innings)

Kasey Landfair hit a grand slam and drove in five, while Adrian Culpepper went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple, four runs scored and two RBIs as Gulf Breeze hammered Choctaw.

Anndrea Marsh scored twice, while Kelsey Hebert hit a two run single. Culpepper and Mallory Mead combined on a no-hitter. Pace JV 18, Lady Dolphins 2

Rachel Viglione and Marsh singled for the team s lone hits at Pace Thursday.

Jessica Watson scored both runs for Gulf Breeze.
