Dolphin athletics has a new attitude
BY SCOTT PAGE Gulf Breeze News scott@gulfbreezenews.com

Gulf Breeze High School hosted an all-sports strength and conditioning clinic for current sixth through 11th graders Feb. 8-9.

"We want to ignite a flame that helps the Gulf Breeze athletics department get to a higher level," head football coach Chris Nemith said.

"Coach" Lance Nevin of Bigger Faster Stronger (BFS) led the clinic designed to increase athletic performance by overhauling the current mindset, motivation and work ethic of Gulf Breeze athletics.

"If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done before," Nevin said.

BFS motivates athletes to "Be an 11," which means placing a new emphasis on leadership, teamwork and decision-making on and off the field.

The BFS program has produced some exceptional results. According to their website, schools that have had BFS clinics average two more football wins, three more basketball wins, three more baseball wins and 20 percent more overall victories.

BFS states that in order to become an 11, student-athletes must create a value system, determine their dreams and goals and be aware of dream keepers and dream stealers.

"BFS has had over 500 schools win state championships after hosting a clinic," Nevin said.

The main goal of the BFS clinic is to create the positive culture and attitude necessary for success in athletics, and life in general. "This is an opportunity for our athletes, our program and the community to unify," Nemith said.
