Education Task Force meeting Feb. 21

The Education Task Force, a committee of the Gulf Breeze Chamber of Commerce, invites the public to attend its next meeting at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 21 at Gulf Breeze Middle School.

Speaker will be Tim Wyrosdick, assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and assessment for the Santa Rosa School District.

Topics will include the upcoming legislative session and there will be a question and answer session. An RSVP is requested to 932-7888.

Santa Rosa Education Foundation seeking Golden Apple sponsors

The Santa Rosa Education Foundation is seeking sponsors for its annual Golden Apple Awards Banquet to be held on February 22 at New World Landing.

During this event honoring all teachers, the Santa Rosa School District will recognize the Teachers of the Year from each school as well as the teacher selected as the district's nominee for Florida Teacher of the Year 2009.

Sponsorship levels are available at Bronze $100, Silver $250, Gold $500, and Platinum $1,000, levels. Tickets to the event are $25 per person.

New Diversity Summer Study Abroad Scholarship

STAMFORD, CT - DiversityAbroad.com and AIFS announce the creation of the DiversityAbroad.com Summer Scholarship sponsored by the American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS), offering $10,000 in scholarships to deserving, under-represented students.

The scholarships are being given to students who meet the criteria and are to be used for studying abroad in the summer of 2008. Five scholarships of $2,000 each may be used toward any of the study abroad programs offered by Diversity Abroad sponsors.
