There's a special place for government workers

Many people here work for the government. It's a military town in many ways and then there is the county, city and Federal government. There are many retired folks that used to work for the government, and then there are the rest of us.

Many times government folks are the first to tell you that it was a good job, but didn't pay much. It seems to me that you make a trade when you decide to work for any government. That is low pay for long term security. I could never do it, but then I'm glad that others make the choice or government would not work at all.

I personally think that there is little more that the government should do, other than protect the borders, help deliver the mail, and uphold the constitution of these united states, but then I am me! You can often tell government workers, but you can't tell them much!

Here are a few ways you can tell if someone works for any government...

When someone asks about what you do for a living, you lie, or tell them your hobby!

You get really excited about a 2 percent raise, and live by something called the "cost of living raise"!

Your supervisor doesn't have the ability to do your job.

You sit in a cubicle smaller than your car and you have to appear to love it.

You get excited about a new computer that is actually faster than the one you have at home.

Your average age at work is "deceased"!

You have to wait until someone dies to get a promotion.

Lunch is like another scheduled meeting, only shorter.

You punch in and punch out, and then wonder what you did today.

You are not allowed to do a football pool on the Super Bowl, because no one can understand the grid.

It is dark when you drive to work and when you come home.

Your career is dependent on the seniority system, and people are living longer than ever now.

You're forced to park your car a mile from the office because of all the commanders, customers, designated contractor, VIP's, employees of the month/quarter/year and visitor, parking spaces by the main entrance.

You can shop at the Base Exchange, but they never have anything you need.

Your car is two years older than your son's automobile.

You wonder why you thought that the long term stability was such a great idea when you were much younger,

And finally …"you work at a job that must have a purpose, but it has never revealed itself to you.!!!

God bless them each and every one.

Just thought you'd like to know…
