Sports Briefs Bigger, Faster, Stronger, an enterprise that's been in existence for more than 30 years, will be in Gulf Breeze Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8-9. "The program's set up to train the whole person, not just athletically," GBHS head coach Chris Nemith said. The two-day event is for male and female athletes in grades 7-11. Parents are encouraged to attend the event free of charge. The seminar starts at 5 p.m. on Feb. 8 with a presentation call 'Be an 11,' in the gym. "Our way of expressing excellence is to say, 'On a scale of 1 to 10: Be an 11!'" explains the group's website biggerfasterstronger.com "The mission of Be an 11 is to empower you to look beyond the horizon and accomplish things thought to be impossible by stretching beyond your preconceived limits. On a scale of 1 to 10, what do you want to be?" Friday's seminar is, again, free, for parents, but for students, it's $20, which includes a book students get to keep. Saturday at 9 a.m. in the gym, students will have a strength and conditioning clinic, put on the BFS staff. Deadline for registering is Tuesday, Feb. 2.
