The Gulf Breeze boys soccer team won their last two regular season games last week, beating both Pace and Catholic 5-0.
Thursday, the Dolphins beat Pace on Senior Night with contributions from those seniors. Three minutes in, senior forward Brad Parrish scored on an assist from senior forward Leland Davis to give the Dolphins a 1-0 lead.
The Dolphins would not extend their lead until the 44th minute when Parrish scored off a free kick from senior midfielder Andrew Davis.
One minute later, the Dolphins made the score 3-0 when Thomas Farmer scored off a pass from Leland Davis.
"That was all Leland," Farmer said. "He made two guys miss and when he got the ball to me it was an easy shot."
Jack Begley made it 4-0 in the 69th minute when he scored on a header off a Jesse Ortiz cross. The Dolphins' final goal of the game came two minutes later when Jason Lambert kicked a knuckling shot that squirted out of the Pace keeper's hands.
Friday the Dolphins topped Catholic in the regular season finale. GBHS did not get on the scoreboard until the 24th minute when Parrish scored off the rebound from his own shot.
In the 28th minute, Leland Davis scored off a rebound from a Jesse Ortiz shot to make the score 2-0. Three minutes later Parrish scored in the same way, only it was Leland Davis taking the shot.
The Dolphins added to their lead in the 58th minute when Parrish and Leland Davis connected again. This time Parrish passed the ball to Davis, and Davis shot it in the lower right corner of the goal. Andrew Davis scored the Dolphins' final goal in the 75th minute when he kicked the ball in off a Nick Malloy corner kick.
"I think the team played really well in the last two games," said Brad Parrish, "We've been doing a really good job of getting the ball in the net and that is what matters most."
"I am very pleased with the way we have been playing," head coach Bruce Savage said. "We scored a lot of goals and did not allow any goals. We are playing with a great attitude right now and playing some of our best ball of the year at the right time."
The top-seed Dolphins played either Washington or PHS in a district tournament semifinal Wednesday. The final is 7 p.m. Friday.
