Car burglar strikes Sunday in Tiger Point area Several businesses were burglarized in the Tiger Point area Sunday. The burglaries occurred at the Gulf Breeze Church of Christ, Santa Rosa Shores Baptist Church, IHOP and Waffle House. The burglaries occurred while churchgoers were inside during services and while patrons were dining inside the restaurants. Six vehicles were burglarized between the hours of 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. Vehicle windows were smashed out by unknown suspects, who were preying on vehicles that had valuables in plain view, such as women's purses and electronics. A suspicious vehicle was observed at two of the locations by witnesses. The vehicle was described as a mid 90's model, gold, full size Chevrolet pickup truck. The truck was believed to be missing the tailgate, or it was possibly in the down position. The tag number obtained by witnesses did not belong on the vehicle, sheriff's deputies said. The suspect was described as a white male, 6 feet tall, medium to large build, with short blonde/brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white short sleeve T-shirt. Anyone with information concerning the burglaries or the suspect vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 850-437-STOP. Anyone providing information that leads to an arrest is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. |
