The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphins will look to snap their six-game losing streak when they host Navarre tonight at 6 p.m.

The Lady Dolphins (5-12) enter the game coming off two losses last week by a total of nine points.

Milton 39, Lady Dolphins 26

Milton outscored Gulf Breeze 14-8 in the fourth quarter to sweep the season series from the Lady Dolphins Jan. 8 in Gulf Breeze.

Natalie Alverson and Jamie Beeler both had six points, while Morgan Bass had five, Tobie Bass four, Deannette Zuniga three and Sarah Munsch two.

The younger Bass (Morgan) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Tobie had six. Alverson had three assists.

The Lady Dolphins were 4- for-13 from the free throw line, while Milton was 14-for-26.

West Florida 40, Lady Dolphins 38

Agame-winning layup, after two seconds were put back on the clock, gave the Lady Jaguars a win over Gulf Breeze.

After Gulf Breeze missed two free throws with 10 seconds left, West Florida dribbled upcourt and called timeout with 1.6 seconds left, according to GBHS coaches, but the officials put 2.2 more seconds on the clock.

Tobie Bass had 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Zuniga had nine points and four steals. Alverson and Beeler both had seven points, while Christine Hay had six.

Beeler had nine rebounds, five steals and four assists in the loss.

The game wasn't the first the Lady Dolphins were the victim of questionable clockkeeping late in the game. Gulf Breeze lost a one-point game at Pace in December when the game clock ran out as a ball was being inbounded, not when it was touched inbounds.

The Lady Dolphins' 36 percent free throw shooting (10-for-28) didn't help their cause, either.

Milton JV 33, Lady Dolphins 8 Without two of its starters, the Lady Dolphins were no match for Milton Jan. 8.

Kasey Landfair had four points for Gulf Breeze.

Lady Dolphin JV 39,

West Florida JV 24

Landfair and Emily Chastain both had 12 points in a win over West Florida Thursday.

Milton ninth grade 22,

Lady Dolphins 17

Jasmine Crowell had seven points as Gulf Breeze lost a close one to Milton.

The West Florida ninth grade team beat the Lady Dolphins by 21. The high scorer was Lindsey Hawthorne, who made a three-pointer.

GBHS plays at Washington Saturday.
