The Gulf Breeze Dolphin basketball team bounced back from a close loss at Escambia Thursday to win 43-41 Saturday in Milton.

The Dolphins (11-8, 3-4 in District 1-4A play) used defense and free throws to avenge an early season loss to Milton (8- 9). Gulf Breeze forced seven Panther turnovers in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 points off those turnovers.

Bryan Shreve, who scored 11 points, hit four free throws in the final 1:07 as the Dolphins finished the game going 11-for- 15 from the stripe.

Dustin Clements, who had seven points, drove baseline and threw down a two-handed jam in the second quarter, dispelling a report last week that his foot had been broken.

Milton led by five at the half before Zach Andrews, making his second straight start, converted a three-point play in the third quarter to give the Dolphins their first lead at 26-25.

The Panthers had a chance to tie the game, but missed a shot in the closing seconds.

Andrews had nine points, while David Hibberts and Matt Catellier had five each, Alec Cann three, Garrett Carr two and Jeff White one. Hibberts also had five rebounds and five steals.
