Santa Rosa inmate injured
STAFF REPORTS Gulf Breeze News news@gulfbreezenews.com
A Navarre Man, currently serving time at the Santa Rosa County Jail for an aggravated assault charge on an officer the day after Christmas, was hospitalized after allegedly fighting with deputies.

Bloodsworth
The inmate, Michael Glenn Bloodsworth, 50, allegedly engaged into a physical confrontation with detention deputies in the shower area of his jail pod. During the altercation, detention deputies said they were attempting to gain control of Bloodsworth and his head struck the floor. Detention personnel administered immediate medical care and Bloodsworth was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital by ambulance.

Bloodsworth was accused of assaulting an officer with a weapon in December while they were attempting to serve an Okaloosa County Arrest Warrant which was related to separate incident involving assault on a law enforcement officer.

Sheriff Wendell Hall has ordered that an investigation be conducted into the incident, which is standard policy when an inmate sustains injuries in the jail.
