GBSA basketball season resumes after threeweek layoff

The GBSA youth basketball season resumes last weekend after a three-week absence due to the Christmas holidays.

The following is a recap of that last weekend, games that were played on Dec. 14-15.

7-8 boys

Hawkins 14, Grace 7: Nicholas Myers had eight points for Hawkins, while Daniel Brayton, Deems Edlund and Matthew Hawkins had two each.

Tyler Dittmer had five points for Grace, while Steele Chambers had two.

Sheppard 20, Leffel 13: Cole Sheppard had 10 points for Sheppard, while Daniel Green and Casey Warford had four each and Connor Thompson two.

Bo Fabbro had eight points for Leffel, while Alec Grimes had three and Kel Jackson two.

Stringfellow 14, Dalton 4: Chandler Burtt and Tristan Diamond had four each for Stringfellow, while Coleman Burtt, Griffin Reedy and Luke Stringfellow had two each.

Eric Czeck had four points for Dalton.

7-8 girls

Karcher 8, Curington 2: Alyssa Scott scored eight points for Karcher.

Avery Lutz had two points for Curington.

Taylor 15, Hepworth 4: Jordan Taylor had 12 points for Taylor, while Alexandra Salazar had two and Makenna Faircloth one.

Olivia Hepworth had four points for Hepworth.

9-10 boys

Barham 18, Crowdis 16: Blake Fournie had 15 points for Barham, while Bryce Johnson had two Christopher Cody one.

Tyler Phelps had eight points for Crowdis, while Ryan Walter had four and Michael Flake and Corey Nolan two each.

Proctor 14, Barham 6: Sam Joyce, Reid Folland and Will Musmansky had four each for Proctor, while Bradley Proctor had two.

Blake Fournie had four points for Barham, while Alex Barham had two.

9-10 girls

Radcliffe 12, Clark 9: Kylie Finkbone, Michelle Barrineau, Jessie Droogsma, Madison Passey, Emily Radcliffe and Renae Schmidt had two each for Radcliffe.

Victoria Hardman had four points for Clark, while Megan Pewitt and Paige Van Tassel had two each and Zoe Wight one.

White 20, Rockett 4: Savannah Nixon had 10 points for White, while Lacey Deloach had four and Claudia Manderson, Katt Crowdis and Katherine Hess had two each.

Caitlyn Gill had four points for Rockett.

11-12 boys

Mink 13, Flake 8: Michael Neal and Austin Poling had four each for Mink, while Nick Kozbiel had three nad Tyler Fisher two.

Joe Lennon and Beau Bennett had four each for Flake.

Newell 15, Mink 14: Austin Fillinger had seven points for Newell, while Austin Garrett and Hank Newell had four each.

Michael Neal and Austin Poling had six each for Mink, while Nick Kozbiel had two.

Hoskins 40, Hayes 25,: Chad Wise had 15 points for Hoskins, while Nate Hoskins had 10, Drew Holk and Sam Hoskins had four each, Ben Hoskins three and David Brayton and Bryce St. Ores two each.

Connor Harris and Pete Hayes had six each for Hayes, while Nathan Theorgood had five and Ashley Williams and Connor Bray four each.

11-14 girls

Brown 28, Welsh 18: Michelle Brown had 10 points for Brown, while Richelle Czeck had eight, Mary Kate Campbell six and Andrea Reardon and Olivia Burns two each.

Samantha Welsh had nine points for Welsh, while Savannah Deloach had seven and Kalee Bogan and Sarah Tolan two each.

Riney 17, Munsch 12: Bailey Clements had 10 points for Riney, while Alex Karcher, Laura Riney and Jessica Bryant had two each and Torie Gray one.

Brooke Reynolds had eight points for Munsch, while Rebecca Hyde and Jill Bunze had two each.

Brown 27, Newell 18: Mary Kate Campbell had 10 points for Brown, while Richelle Czeck had nine and Annemarie Schultz and Michelle Brown had four each.

Kerrie Shaw had eight points for Newell, while Katie Bowyer had six and Cate Hodges and Elizabeth Hoehn two each.

13-14 boys

Castleberry 32, Custred 26 (2 OT): Allen Wang had 19 points for Castleberry, while James Mozur had six, Reid Torgerson five and Patrick Roane two.

Harrison Rhodes had 12 points for Custred, while Bryce Wein had five, Alec Chavis four, Chance Wallis three and Sam Wein and Devin Jones two each.

Byrne 28, Kuhn 22: Colin Brewer had eight points for Byrne, while Reno Routh and Taylor Webb had five each, Alex Pagonis four and Samuel Hartman and Jack Higley two each.

Nick Romjue had 15 points for Kuhn, while Cooper Stock had four, Jacob Doyle two and Luke Cunningham one.
