Sports Briefs Gulf Breeze High School Student Council presents the Kids for Camp 5K Run/Walk January 19 at 8 a.m. The race will start at the GBHS Stadium. Early registration is $17 including shirt, $25 day of race. Packet pickup is Jan. 18 from 2:30- 5:30 in the cafeteria. Parking is available at the stadium and St. Ann Catholic Church. Kids for Camp is a fiveyear old program providing autistic children a place to experience a normal summer vacation. U12 Yankees travel team to start spring training this week The Gulf Breeze Yankees, a 12U tournament baseball team, kicked off their 2008 spring training on Jan 5. The team will work out each Saturday and Sunday during January at Shoreline Park. Indoor training on Monday and Thursday evenings will be at the Pelicans Academy. Local area players will compete in two weekend tournaments each month beginning Feb 15. Interested supporters and sponsors can contact LEL@SmartResort.com. P'Beach Volleyball team raising money for national tournament trip The Pensacola Beach Volleyball Club's 15-under team is raising funds to play in next year's U.S. Junior Olympic Girls National Championships in Dallas. R.J. Salon has donated two facials, hour massages, haircuts and pedicure/manicures for the cause. For $5, one can purchase a raffle tickets for these prizes. The team will also sell raffle tickets during GBSA basketball games this season, as well as at Winn Dixie, where they'll be bagging groceries Feb. 2. The tickets will be drawn on Feb. 3.
