Cross country, football teams hold annual award banquets

The Gulf Breeze High cross country and football teams celebrated their fall sports before heading into the winter break.

The cross country teams held their banquet Dec. 12 in the cafeteria, while the football team held theirs four days later at Gulf Breeze First Baptist Church.

The senior-laden boys cross country team had its best season in school history, winning district, taking second at regional and finishing ninth at state. The girls team, led by junior Emily Tryon, finished 11th at state.

The football team, with a short-handed coaching staff, finished 2-8.
