      The eastern section of Fort Pickens, from the entrance gate westward to the Ranger station, including the beaches, will be closed to the public until April 1, 2009.

Reserve for candlelight tour of Fort Barrancas
      Gulf Islands National Seashore will present a Candlelight Tour of Fort Barrancas on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 5 - 7:15 p.m..The free tour highlights Pensacola in the Civil War. In addition, the Fort Barrancas Visitor Center will be open. Reservations are required. Visitors should call (850) 455-5167 for tour reservations.

Navarre's 'Christmas in the Park' is Saturday
      Navarre's Annual "Christmas in the Park", sponsored by the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Saturday, December 6 from 3 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Navarre Park at the foot of the Navarre bridge. This year's event will include a Christmas parade that will start at 4 p.m. from Winn Dixie and end at Vision Bank.

      All annual passes for the Bob Sikes Bridge will expire Wednesday, Dec. 31. Renewals continue through Wednesday, Dec. 31.
