Local bird experts say this adult eagle, which has an American Coot in its claws, was probably migrating from Alaska to south Florida for the winter. Zoo Lights, The Zoo- Northwest Florida's annual holiday event, is set to begin Friday, Nov. 28. It will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings Nov. 28 through Dec. 13 and nightly Dec. 18-27. The event will be closed on Dec. 24-25. He was elected chairman last week by the other school board members at their re-organizational meeting. Previous chair Joann Simpson passed the gavel to Gray at the Nov. 18 meeting.
