Again I ask: What happened to the vaunted LSU defense? Did it really owe that much of its dominance to Bo Pellini? The Tigers have their hands full again this weekend as the Ole Miss Rebels travel to Baton Rouge. The Rebs have lost four games by an average of 4.9 points. More ... The Noles are all but out of ACC title contention, unless they defeat Maryland and Wake Forest ® loses. They get their chance to hold up their end this weekend as they travel to Maryland, but it will not be easy. The Terps haven't lost a game at home this year. FSU should be a little stronger on offense with the return of five suspended receivers. More ... How bout Randy Shannon and the Miami Hurricanes? They sit in position to play for an ACC Championship if they can win out. Tonight's game against Georgia Tech should all but do it, as only N.C. State remains on the schedule. More ... Well, the losing streak is over for the Knights and so too will the season be soon. 2008 has been a nightmare for UCF, which has been haunted by some of the worst offensive play in the nation. With a win over Memphis this weekend and then UAB, the Knights could finish the season on a wining streak. Something they haven't experienced yet this year. More ... The Bulls have now lost three straight and their lone Big East win was against a dismal Syracuse. The latest meltdown was a 49-16 blowout loss to Rutgers. The next two games, Connecticut and West Virginia, offer a chance at redemption as they are near the top of the conference standings. Luckily for USF, it has already won six games and should be able to secure a bowl bid. More ... After losing five straight, the Eagles are now on a threegame winning streak and could earn bowl eligibility with a win at SMU in the season finale. USM has two weeks to prepare and how sweet it would be for Larry Fedora and his team to overcome the midseason adversity with a fourgame wining streak to finish the season and catapult them into a bowl game.
