Drs. Renfroe, Zieman and Miller huddle with staff every morning to go over every chart of every patient scheduled for appointments that day. There is an old adage that “two’s a plenty, three’s a crowd,” but the dentists at Renfroe & Zieman prove otherwise. After nearly 40 years of teamwork, Dr. Fred Renfroe and Dr. Steve Zieman recently hired a new dentist to join the practice and the fit could not be better!

“Dr. A.E. Miller came to us last spring, and we could not be more delighted,” praises Zieman. “He has excellent technical knowledge and experience, which is important to us. We have always been on the cutting edge and gone with the latest equipment and techniques. We don’t wait to follow – that’s what sets us apart.”

Drs. Renfroe and Zieman both began practicing in the 70’s. They attended a seminar together at the Pankey Institute and formed a cohesive dental philosophy and practice centered on excellence in patient care, the best of medical training and techniques and life-long service to and involvement within the community. They are a Gulf Breeze institution – it just comes natural now to be in the heart of Gulf Breeze working in the community and giving back at every chance.

“Gulf Breeze is really a different community – a small town. These great dentists are also great men and I am learning a lot from them, about dentistry and about humanity,” Miller says. “I may have been at the top of dentistry, but these guys are also offering a whole different level of personal touch. They are at their prime as professionals, and I can learn from them.”

It is not unusual for several generations of the same family to receive care at Renfroe & Zieman. “I’m on my fourth generation already – in fact today I had the grandchildren in one room and great grandchildren across from them at the same time!” Zieman laughs when he adds “You really get to be a part of people’s lives and it is an amazing thing.”

Renfroe agrees. “I am always honored when people throughout the years send me referrals. It is truly overwhelming how many patients come here from out of town, stay in touch over the years and refer, refer, refer. To have their trust is very humbling.”

And the commitment to quality of service will continue to grow.

“We brought A.E. in to add to what we do – we don’t want things to change. He’s extremely knowledgeable and competent and will add to what we do already. As dentistry advances, it is more fun than ever to practice. Non-invasive dentistry advances, pain-free injections, computer advances all add up to doing a better job,” asserts Renfroe.

The practice is one of only a handful that can create a computer-generated crown right in the office; if a patient presents with a broken tooth, they can walk out the same day with their new crown thanks to an in-house porcelain lab that adds a unique degree of service. Lasers, computerized techniques and cutting edge instruments all add to the level of service provided.

“Life is good…” says Zieman with a bright smile. “… in Gulf Breeze and in dental care!”

Miller owned his own practice for ten years in St. Petersburg, and then followed that with three years of non-profit work. “Joining this practice is the beginning of a new life for me,” says Miller. “I am happy to have a chance to start anew in a way that takes advantage of where I’ve been and what I’ve done and take it all to a new level. I will never have the years of common history with the community that these men have now, but I will build relationships and service from this point. I am honored to be getting mentored by these fine dentists.”
