'Meatball' the dog has about as many lives as a typical cat
      A local pooch is safely with his owner because of the efforts of caring neighbors in the Villa Venyce neighborhood. Jennifer McCrary almost lost her Pug - Meatball — twice in the past 18 months after he fell into the canal behind her Gulf Breeze home. Both times, Meatball was saved by a neighbor.

Hospital Auxiliary celebrates staff
      Gulf Breeze Hospital Auxiliary had a changing of the guards at the annual Re- Education and Election of new officers meeting Sept. 24 at the Andrews Institute. The luncheon included an expanded salad bar that was both attractive and delicious, and a dessert table featured varied cake squares and fruit bars.

Habitat House rises in Midway
      Tina Maloney of Gulf Breeze and her two daughters soon will be moving into a new home. It will be the first home mortgage Maloney will pay by herself, and it will be interest-free for the next 25 years. That's because she is getting help from Habitat for Humanity of Pensacola, as well as three area United Methodist churches.
