Election's over until next campaign starts
Today, nearly half of the residents of our country are happy (their party won) and half are disappointed (they lost). Many of us could almost recite by heart the speeches of the major candidates. Many of us wonder what the television news pundits will have to talk about now. Perhaps the next six months will be an analysis of what worked for the winning party, and what didn't for the losing party. In one of the many polls taken, the question was asked about our response to the election coverage. There were three options and the one option that received the most votes (80+%) was simply "Sick of it!" Perhaps we'll have a couple of years now during which our Congress will be working on projects for the betterment of our country, at least until we start the two-year process of presidential candidates out talking about how good they are, and how poor their opponents are. Cynical? Maybe. Realistic? Maybe. During these two years, I even came to enjoy "Dancing with the Stars," and "America's Funniest Videos." Diversion? Probably! |
