      Is it over? Is everybody OK? Is it safe to go outside? You mean, the world DIDN'T come to an end late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning? Two days ago, Americans and Santa Rosa Countians went to polls and elected a new president, new federal, state and county leaders.

Cure to economic problems is entrepreneurial spirit
      I would hate to be the winner of Tuesday's presidential candidate. Both candidates were delusional in thinking their economic policies will drag us out of a recession or even improve the economy. The reality is that the solutions offered by both are the equivalent of shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. They are meaningless.

It's time to recycle those campaign signs
      Now that the elections are over, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection encourages candidates and citizens to recycle campaign signs. Recycling paper materials like campaign signs keeps waste out of landfills and allows for the reuse of materials.

      Gulf Breeze News incorrectly reported Brian Yablonski's professional affiliation in an Oct. 30 story explaining the proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution. Yablonski works for the St. Joe Company, not St. Joe County. GBN regrets the error and any confusion it might have caused.
