      There are some who would dismiss the idea that our actions have a long-lasting effect on our lives and the lives of others. There are others who would affirm that our actions, no matter how small, hold the possibility of long term effects.

Butterflies and art capture Navarre's fancy
     The Butterfly House in Navarre Park held its Annual Monarch Butterfly Festival, since it is Monarch season. Volunteers manned stations showing kids and their parents how Monarch Butterflies lay eggs and hatch, then how they feed on milkweed and how to tag the butterflies for research.

Finally, respect
Travel site recommends local beach
      An internet travel site that offers reviews of travel destinations is recommending Pensacola Beach as one of the top 10 beaches in the United States. Pensacola Beach comes in at a respectable number 7, bested by Florida beaches in Tierra Verde, Panama City and Miami Beach. Three beaches in the top 10 are in Hawaii.

Vote early through November 1
      Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David H. Stafford reminds voters that early voting will continue through the weekend, and into next week. Early voters may cast their ballots on through Saturday, Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

SRIA debates funding for core development
      Santa Rosa Island Board members debated raising the toll on the Bob Sikes bridge by another dollar to help fund proposed development in the Pensacola Beach's core area. Board member John Peacock told the panel, "If I were a county commissioner I would find every way to stimulate interest in this area.
