Midway Fire District commissioners last week gave Chief Jonathan Kanzigg the goahead to explore the feasibility of a possible merger or consolidation of services with two Navarre fire departments. 15-year-old boy apparently crossed street in moving traffic

A Gulf Breeze High School student is expected back in class today after being struck by a car Friday shortly after the school dismissed Friday, Oct. 17. Budget to get much tighter next year
The county schools are in worse trouble than the district originally thought at the beginning of this budget year. The projected budget shortfall of the district for the 2008-09 school year currently stands at $8.7 million. Charles Henry Meyers, 82, a former Gulf Breeze resident, passed away Oct. 8, 2008, at his residence in Azalea Trace in Pensacola.
