Kristen Marks, Attorney Wills, Trusts, Probate and Guardianship Gulf Breeze

Kristen Marks enjoys family time, above, with her son Drew, 7, daughter Jill, 9, and her husband Andrew. Kristen Marks enjoys family time, above, with her son Drew, 7, daughter Jill, 9, and her husband Andrew. Q: Kristen, where did you receive your education?

A: I received my Bachelors Degree in Government, with a minor in Religion from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, in 1992. I attended University of Alabama School of Law, Tuscaloosa, AL, 1995, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Roll Tide!

Q: Tell us about your family.

. A: I have been married for 13 years to

Andrew Marks, also a local attorney, and we have two children, Jill aged 9 and Drew age 7.

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: I grew up in Fairfax, VA.

Q: How long have you been in business and what are some of your accomplishments?

A: I passed the Florida Bar exam in 1995 and practiced with the Pensacola law firm of Chase, Quinnell, McIver, Jackson & Marks, P.A. for 7 years in the areas of estate planning, probate & guardianships. Then I took a 6-year hiatus while I built another local business --I was a Cadillac driving sales director with Mary Kay Cosmetics. As a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director for 6 years, I led an amazing team of Mary Kay consultants nationwide to $500,000 in retail sales in 2007. Although no longer a sales director, I still maintain my Mary Kay retail business serving my 100- plus customers.

Now I'm back actively practicing law again, serving Florida women in the areas of Wills, Trusts, Probate and Guardianship. Q: What keeps you going? . A: My family!

Q: What is your goal for the future?

. A: Professionally I want to

continue serving women in our community in the areas of my legal expertise -- wills, trusts, probate and guardianship. I think many women feel intimidated dealing with attorneys and the legal process. I hope to break down those barriers for women and provide a unique personable approach to the estate planning and estate distribution process. Personally, I want our family to travel more around the world so that I can expose my children to new cultures, languages & people to broaden their horizons and worldview.

Q: What else would you like to share about yourself? . A: I'm very excited about

my new website for women: www.MyPinkLawyer.com I chose the name because it's fun and catchy, yet makes sense given my other business background. I'm not a stuffy person so I knew my website, business cards, letterhead, etc. couldn't be stuffy or boring either. I realize I may turn off a segment of the population who think it's too "froo-froo" (is that a word?) but that's who I am. You can be competent and professional yet fun at the same time. I think women will connect with that and appreciate working with someone who makes them feel comfortable.

I offer free will and trust reviews. Although I do have a downtown office available, I prefer meeting with clients "on their turf," whether at their homes, their work, even over coffee at Starbucks, whatever is most convenient for them. Kristen Marks My Pink Lawyer 934-5702 www.MyPinkLawyer .com
