      LEACHCOOK Jack and Janis Cook of Gulf Breeze announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Rene' Cook, to Brett Michael Leach, son of Ed and Cheryl Leach of Pensacola. Lindsay graduated in 2003 from Gulf Breeze High School. She has her Bachelor's degree in French from the University of South Florida and now plans to attend fashion school.

Pet of the week
      Buddy, a Boston Terrier owned by Nancy Ullman of Gulf Breeze, is getting an early start in preparation for Halloween. Buddy will be dressing as a pig for Barktoberfest and Halloween this year. "Recently, while I was doing my shoulder rehab with Scott Morrison in Dr. Sellers' office, Dr. Sellers suggested that Buddy should dress up as a flying pig," Ullman said.

Cancer support available from SHH Circle of Hope
      Cancer patients, cancer survivors, their families and friends are invited to the next meeting of the Circle of Hope Cancer Support Group at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. The meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the main hospital's Oncology Unit Library on the second floor. Valet parking is available at the hospital's main entrance on Ninth Avenue.
