PollSt. Francis Day Festival on tap Saturday

St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Gulf Breeze will hold its annual Festival Day, including Blessing of the Animals and Holy Eucharist, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 St. Francis Drive. Both Episcopalians and non- Episcopalian are invited to celebrate St. Francis Day with a day of fun and fellowship. Special events will begin at 10:30 a.m. You can have a picture taken with your pet to take home. There will be games and a moonwalk to entertain the children supervised by Jackie Manderson and Joy McLaurine. There will sales items such as T-shirts and house or garden plants. The annual fish fry with sides, beverage and a dessert will cost only $8 per person. Hot dogs, sides and a beverage will be available for $2 per person. You can dine in cool comfort in the Parish Hall. Buy tickets for the fish fry in advance after Sunday service or call Suzie Gilchrist at 932-5565. Gulf Breeze Methodist Middle school students are invited to join Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church for an after-school program called 'The Walk' that starts Monday, Oct. 6, in the Youth Building at GBUMC's Fairpoint Drive campus. The program will include snacks, recreation, large and small Christian-based activities as well as off-campus mission opportunities. Students are invited to walk over from Gulf Breeze Middle School if they have no other transportation. The program dismisses at 3:45 p.m. each day. The speaker will be a League of Women's Voters representative who will talk about the amendments on the November ballot. St. Ann Catholic St. Ann's Family Life invites all football fans to tailgate for the Gulf Breeze High School Homecoming game vs. Catholic High School on Friday, Oct. 3, outside the Parish Hall from 5:30 p.m. until kickoff.
