The Dolphins, who finished with only 77 yards of total offense, committed four first half turnovers, which led to 21 Patriots points as Pace cruised to a 36-0 victory. More ... Tristan Christiansen's safety with 5:35 left in the game was the difference as the 1993 Dolphin football team edged UMS-Wright 16-14. Auburn was on the better end of a 3-2 pitcher's duel last weekend with Miss. State. They have a national championship caliber defense that ranks in the top ten in rushing, scoring and total defense. More ... After a week off, the Gators travel to Knoxville to take on the Vols. If given two weeks to prepare, Coach Urban Meyer is likely to have a solid game plan ® for Tennessee, who is looking to snap a three-game losing streak to UF. More ... The Dawgs offense only managed 14 points vs. South Carolina. Though they lost to UNLV, Arizona St. can score and UGA will need more than 14. The good news is the defense is only allowing 15 points per game, but can they stop the 9th-ranked passing attack led by Rudy Carpenter. More ... LSU has handled changed play dates and locations due to hurricanes, but SEC road games present completely different challenges. Neither of the Tigers' QBs have faced an SEC opponent, their fans or a top ten defense. Fortunately, LSU's D is also ranked in the top ten in points and rushing yards. More ... FSU outscored its first two opponents by a combined score of 115- 7. It seems that nothing can slow them down, but Wake Forest has been a ® roadblock for the Noles the past two seasons. More ... The Canes had an extra week to rebound from a loss to Florida and prepare for the trip to College Station to take on Texas A&M. Miami is struggling to find consistency on offense. They are a dismal 105th in total offense and 107th in passing. More ... Maybe the last two weeks have given UCF the extra time they need to improve offensively. Yes, they took USF down to the wire, but the offense is ranked 109th in total yards and 110th in passing. Not a good sign when going on the road to face BC, who has the 15thranked scoring D (9.5 ppg) and #2 passing D (103.5 ypg). More ... Bulls fans should get a muchneeded break this week after two gutwrenching wins in the past two games. USF matches its high-powered offense against a Florida International defense that ranks 100th or worse in scoring, total defense and passing defense (the Panthers are 98th in rushing defense). Matt Grothe and the Bulls should take this one by an astronomical margin. More ... After two tough road games, the Eagles will see a welcomed sight this Saturday, lots of Black and Gold in the stands. QB Austin Davis will also be glad to see the 113th-ranked passing defense of Marshall on the other side of the ball. Two of Davis's favorite targets are over 6'5'' tall, and Marshall's entire secondary is 6' or shorter. More ... The Gulf Breeze Dolphins will be on the road for the second time in as many weeks Friday when they travel to Tate to take on the Aggies. Tate, like the Pace Patriots before them, will be looking for get back on the winning track at the hands of the Dolphins. The Aggies led 15-0 after one quarter before the Crusaders scored 17 unanswered to win 17-15. More ... The Dolphin junior varsity and ninth grade football team opened their seasons Thursday with home losses to Pace. The JV team lost 18-7, while the ninth grade lost 24-8. Pace JV 18, GBHS 7 Pace scored early and late in the first half to put away the Dolphins. More ... The Gulf Breeze Sports Association's football program went 4-4 Saturday in Gulf Breeze, with the juniors improving to 2-0 with a hard fought 16-13 win over the Albritton and Gant Rattlers Saturday at Shoreline Park. Xan Sarra's 16-yard touchdown run with 3:29 left in the game sealed the win. Sarra had 42 yards rushing in the win. More ... The Lady Dolphin golf won a pair of matches in a three day span last week. Sarah Hicks shot an even par 36, with birdies on the second and seventh holes, to lead Gulf Breeze to a 171-194 win over Catholic Sept. 9 at A.C. Read. More ... It has been a tough few beginning weeks for our Gulf Breeze High Dolphin football team, coaching staff and fans. And, yes, I included the fans in that equation on purpose. You see, we are ALL in this together. Through the good times and the hard times, we MUST rally together and push forward for the betterment of the program. More ...
