      John Broxson said his support of the financially strapped Zoo Northwest Florida might have cost him his political career. The incumbent Broxson, 76, lost to political newcomer Lane Lynchard, 36, by just 216 votes in the race for District 5 Santa Rosa County Commission seat in the Aug. 26 primary.
