'Tropic Thunder' makes big noise

      Let's get this over with right off the bat: "Tropic Thunder" is the sickest, funniest flick of the summer. The film, co-written and directed by Ben Stiller, who also stars as Tugg Speedman, is a raunchy, biting satire on Hollywood egos and filmmaking. It's also Stiller's best work this decade.

Pensacola Museum of Art opens new exhibit

      The Pensacola Museum of Art (PMA) is pleased to announce the exhibition "Faces and Stories: A Portrait of Southern Writers" on view in the Lewis Bear Family Galleries Friday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Nov. 1. The opening reception will be held Friday, September 5 from 5-7 p.m. with a performance by spoken word artist, Minton Sparks at 6 p.m.
