Santa Rosa Woman's Club plans Sept. 2 meeting at OLA

The GFWC Santa Rosa Woman's Club will hold its first meeting of the 2008-09 club year on Tuesday morning, Sept. 2 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Mission on Pensacola Beach.

As with most meetings, one of their departments sponsors the program, and the Public Affairs Department headed up by Tracie McMahan will be in charge of this meeting's program.

Charlie Roose, Director of Camp Happy Sands, has been invited to be the guest speaker to acquaint everyone with Camp Happy Sands, a day camp for children aged 6 to 11 from lowincome families throughout Pensacola and the surrounding area. It costs about $100 to enable a child to attend, and the Public Affairs Department is actively raising funds to help the kids get there.

If you would like to donate funds to this cause, or if you would like to know more about the GFWC Santa Rosa Woman's Club, you can e-mail them at srwc@live.com or leave a voice-mail message at (850) 449-4913.
