Dolphin halftime shows to feature music from Blood, Sweat and Tears
      The saying goes that you can't have too much of a good thing. Apparently, sounds from the 1970s are a good thing for the GBHS SoundWave band, which will play music from the 'decade of disco' during halftime of Dolphin football games this season.

Dolphins' unsung heroes hope to have team singing different tune in 2008
      If the Dolphins are to pull some surprises this season, it will all start with the team's most unheralded group - the offensive line. "Offensive lineman, we're underappreciated," said left guard Chas Logan, one of the group's four seniors and one of the group's three returning starters.

      Santa Rosa County native and professional golfer Boo Weekley cleans some fish he and some friends caught aboard The Entertainer last week. Weekley went on the trip just days after being selected to the U.S. Ryder Cup team, which will face Europe in the bi-yearly tournament next month in Louisville, Ky. 'You just can't describe it," said the Milton grad of the selection.

Savage gets start for Chivas USA on national TV
Pyle makes women's soccer team at North Florida; Hurd to play football at Faulkner
      Keith Savage (GBHS Class of 2003) made his third start of the season for Chivas USA in a 2-2 tie with archrival the L.A. Galaxy in front of a nationally televised audience Thursday. The match, which the Galaxy tied in the third minute of extra time, was carried by ESPN2.

      Elizabeth Branco, age 11, took first place in the Forms and was also first in Sparring at the Battle of Mobile Martial Arts Tournament August 9. Branco, who competed against black belts from four different states, trains at Poff's Taekwondo at the Rec Center.

Breeze Basketball's 17-U team finishes second at Back 2 School Hoopfest
12-under team takes second, 15-under squad finishes third
      The Breeze Basketball's 17-under AAU team finished second out of 10 teams at the Back 2 School Hoopfest Tournament August 9-10 at the University of West Florida. The Breeze lost their only pool play game to the Northwest Florida Sharks 79-45 in their opener, the same team that went on to win the tournament.
