      Friday, July 4 KABOOM! 4th of July Fireworks over Santa Rosa Sound by the T-pier. Nashville recording star Woody Bradshaw will perform at the Quietwater Boardwalk Seashell from 6-9 p.m. The Slammers will perform at the Gulfside Pavilion from 7 to 9 p.m.

Beach Optimists plan 'Hot Shots' beach photo contest
      Pensacola Beach Optimist's Summer Social Party, "Hot Shots," will be August 19 at Hunt Hall at Our Lady of the Assumption on Pensacola Beach. This year, attendees are asked to bring a "shower gift" of a teacher's school supply for the Little Red School House project.

Shearman presents island development plan to SRIA
      Pensacola Beach resident Chris Shearman promised to devote 300 man hours to the Santa Rosa Island Authority to propose ways to maximize parking and increase revenues on the beach. True to his word, Shearman appeared before the SRIA Wednesday, June 25 with several scenarios.
