Gulf Breeze 8s win All Star tournament
      The mark of a great team is to be able to win when they don't play at their best. The GBSA 8-under All Star softball team scored a tournament-low 13 runs, but they made enough plays in the field to beat Myrtle Grove 13- 10 in the title game of the Northwest Florida Girls Softball Alliance's Postseason Tournament Thursday in Molino.

Takacs to play softball for SE Louisiana Lions
      Chelsea Takacs, a 2006 Gulf Breeze High grad, recently commited to playing softball at Southeastern Louisiana University. Takacs played the last two seasons at PJC, helping the Lady Pirates to the state tournament this past season.

Breeze Lacrosse goes 3-0
     The Gulf Breeze Lacrosse Club, supported by Florida State's Lacrosse Coaching Staff and a host of local coaches with college and professional experience, played in a jamboree recently in Tallahassee. The Dolphins won all three games they played.

Dolphin varsity, JV baseball teams kick off summer schedule
      The Gulf Breeze Dolphin baseball team opened summer league play with a doubleheader split with Milton June 9. The Panthers scored three runs in the seventh inning to take game one 6-1. Robin Hoffpauir doubled to score Corey Downs for their only run in the third inning. Caleb Brown's second inning single was the team's only other hit.

Myers hits four home runs in Tiger Point 8-under win
      The home teams got off to a great start at the Dizzy Dean District Tournament this past weekend at Shoreline Park. Gulf Breeze's five All Star teams went a combined 9-0 before losing their first game on Sunday. Three of Tiger Point's five teams were still alive (as of Sunday), including their 8-year-old team.

Tomey back as GBHS softball coach
      The game of coaching musical chairs will continue next year, but this year the music will stop on a familiar face. Sean Tomey, who coached the Lady Dolphins to their last winning season (2006), became head coach of the Lady Dolphins once again on Monday.
