The cost of going to the beach might double, if a proposal to increase the toll succeeds. Currently, the toll is $1 for all vehicles to cross the Bob Sikes bridge accessing Pensacola Beach. The Midway Fire District Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 on June 10 against putting a fire fee assessment on the Aug. 26 election ballot. Instead, the Commission voted unanimously to lay off an administrator- Lt.
