PollDental clinic to locate at south health facility Midway is getting a dental clinic for low-income residents. The Santa Rosa County Health Department got the nod from commissioners last week to revamp some space in the county's community health department south annex building in Midway for a dental clinic. Commissioner Don Salter explained, "There are no other Medicaid dentists in Santa Rosa County right now. The privatesector dentists cannot afford, with rising costs, to accept Medicaid any more." The county's health department figures presented to the commissioners show 100,000 Medicaid-eligible children in the county right now. Money for the remodeling is available in the county's special projects fund. The county provides 10 percent of the community health department's clinic funding. |
