Buses get stuck in traffic jam

      There are no more Laidlaw/First Student school buses left in Santa Rosa County. More than 300 buses were driven by some of the school district's bus drivers to New Orleans last week. "We had to send them in waves of about 20 at a time," explained Santa Rosa School District Transportation Director Joey Harrell.

      With the new three-tier bus scheduling for next school year, switching buses is not the only challenge the Santa Rosa County School District faced ending this school year. All current drivers were called in within the last week of school, by seniority, and all bus routes were on the table for bid.
