Cannella sentenced to 8 years prison
      Navarre resident Bruno Cannella pleaded no contest to charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 16 years of age, child abuse, and one count of showing obscene material to a minor and was sentenced 95 months in state prison followed by five years of probation.

GBPD to strictly enforce Click It Or Ticket
      Gulf Breeze Police will strictly enforce vehicular seatbelt usage laws during the upcoming Click It or Ticket awareness campaign that starts May 19 and extends to June 1. "It's a busy traveling time these next couple of weeks with school getting out, people going on vacation and stuff," Sgt. Andy Johnson of the Gulf Breeze Police Department said.

     A 1996 Dodge van driven by Naim David Alhermini, 60, of Navarre slammed into the southwest front wall of Pensacola Pools at 3480 Gulf Breeze Parkway on Tuesday, May 6. The driver told investigators the truck's brakes failed. "We thought it was a bomb; it was that loud," store clerk Debbie Welch said. "Thankfully, none of us was working in that area of the store when it happened." Alhermini was ticketed for faulty equipment, and the truck was towed. There were no injuries. Damage to the building was estimated at $5,000.
