Beach wars
      Well, the beach was quite active last weekend, in spite of all the folks celebrating Sinko de Mayo, which is Spanish for Save the Mayonnaise! It seems that those people that wanted to have impromptu rap concerts and make a point that "the beach belongs to everyone" stayed home due to the large numbers of police that were on hand to be seen everywhere!

Red, White & Blues week is July 9-12
Pensacola Beach plans to go full throttle
      It's that time of year againtime to get revved up for the 2008 Red, White & Blues Week, the largest annual event on Pensacola Beach. Visitors and residents from throughout the region flock to Pensacola Beach for food, fireworks, free concerts and two air shows featuring civilian and military aircraft and of course, Pensacola's own Blue Angels.

More music planned for the beach
      The Santa Rosa Island Authority presents "Sounds of Summer," a new summer concert series to keep your hips swaying and your fingers snapping all summer long. The free concerts will be held three nights a week at the Quietwater Shell on the Boardwalk, overlooking the pristine Santa Rosa Sound. Local musicians will entertain families from 5:30- 7:30 p.m.
