Gulf Breeze Hospital practices disaster response readiness
      Gulf Breeze Hospital and its Baptist Health Care affiliates in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties conducted a multi-level disaster drill May 8 to sharpen their response skills. Staff and support groups like Gulf Breeze and Midway fire departments and Lifeguard Ambulance simulated two major emergencies - a train derailment with chemical spill and a commercial bus accident.

County supports paths for Navarre
      Navarre soon will be getting about four miles of multi-purpose pedestrian paths compliments of Santa Rosa County. If the county's public works department can do the project, it will cost the county $295,000. If it has to be contracted out, the price tag will be slightly higher.

Drug awareness program is tonight
      Parents in Gulf Breeze and the surrounding area are invited to attend a Drug & Alcohol Awareness Program for Parents from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today in the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center. Gulf Breeze High School Resource Officer Mark Lyster will deliver a valuable presentation about drugs and alcohol and other issues facing our children.

      Community Life Center ready to show young artists' works The Community Life Center in Gulf Breeze will host its annual Student Art Show from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, May 16. Art instructor Dawn Jongko teaches students ages 5-15 in home-school groups as well as a community class. The event is to encourage art awareness for kids and support the homeschool community.
