Bayside's U12 girls bridesmaids no more
Jason Thompson/Gulf Breeze News At last The Bayside U12 girls won their age division at the 25th annual Gulf Coast Invitational Sunday at Brosnaham Park. The Bayside U12 girls soccer team figured that eight was enough.
After finishing runners up in seven straight tournaments, Bayside beat the Pensacola Futbol Club's Lady Wolves 2- 0 in the final of the 25th annual Gulf Coast Invitational Sunday at Brosnaham Park.
Frances Harpole scored a goal and assisted on the other by Maggie Player. Bree Rogers assisted on Harpole's goal.
Harpole scored the lone goal in Bayside's 1-0 win over Navarre United in the semifinals.
Rogers scored the first of her two goals in the first minute of play in Bayside's 6-1 win over the OSSO Premier Greyhounds.

U11 Elite win tourney Joseph Rojas scored the second of his two goals with 30 seconds left in double overtime as the Bayside U11 Elite beat Gulf Coast United 3-2 in the final, avenging an earlier 6-1 loss.
T.J. Brubaker scored the other goal for the Elite, who beat Bay United 4-1 in the semifinals.
Hunter Sperry scored twice, while Matthew Cutler and Brai Royer both scored once.
Sperry, Royer and Rojas all scored in the Elite's 3-1 win over the Lower Alabama Blast, while Billy Unterbrink scored in the Elite's 6- 1 loss to Gulf Coast United.
Storm falls in PKs
The U16 Bayside Storm, playing in the final of the U18 bracket, lost to Emerald Coast United 1-0 in penalty kicks.
ECU included at least two college players, including Niceville keeper Cagney Valloch (Mercer College), who stopped Samantha Slaybaugh's penalty kick shot to secure the win.
Cayla Ferrera, Jenny Wells, Alex Pickrell and Megan Selby all made their PK shots.
Slaybaugh and Selby scored goals off passes from Pickrell and Madison Rodwell in a 2-1 win over the Biloxi Xpress in the semifinals.
The Storm bounced back from a 5-0 loss to ECU to beat Navarre United 6-0. Rodwell and Morgan Floyd both scored twice, while Ferrera and Slaybaugh both scored once.
Short-handed Breakers
lose in semis The U18 Bayside Breakers lost to PFC 4-1 in the semifinals - with only nine players. Tommy Gibble scored the Breakers' lone goal.
Jeff Lanza scored three goals, while Brad Parrish scored twice and Gibble a goal and two assists as a full-strength Breakers squad beat the Top of Florida Rovers 6-0.
Parrish scored the lone goal for the nine-player Breakers in a 7-1 loss to PFC.
Thunder loses close
one in semifinals
The U16 Bayside Thunder lost to the Cajun Santos 1-0 in the semifinals.
The Thunder, after losing to Carrollton United 2-0, drilled the Enterprise Wings 13-0.
The Breakers' first seven goals came from seven different players - Chance Winn, Max Gerke, Doug Overlade, Danny Gibble, Eric Mayfield, Zach Miller and Blake Trotter.
Overlade finished with three goals, while Winn, Gibble and Gerke scored twice and Sperry once.
Heat fall to PFC in

The U14 Bayside Heat lost to the PFC 95 Lady Wolves 3-0 in the semifinals of the U15 bracket.
Sara Papantonio scored both goals off passes from Nina Ewens as the Heat beat the SMSC Cyclones 2-0. The Heat tied the Top of Florida Dragons 0-0 in their first match.
U15 girls win
consolation game
The U15 Bayside girls beat the SMSC Cyclones 3-0 in the consolation game. Gina Bertelli, Kayla Vlachos and Allie Frymark scored the goals off passes from Paige Brackin, Frymark and Mallory Buechler.
Bayside lost to both the PFC 94 and 95 teams 3-0.
U10 coed team loses

The Bayside U10 coed team lost to the SMSC Heat 6-1 in the consolation game. Jacob Rojas scored the lone goal for Bayside.
Bayside lost to PFC Yellow 4-0 after beating OSSO 3-0. Rojas, Megan Hawkins and Emily Hoelflich scored Bayside's goal.
U12 boys lose in
consolation game
The U12 Bayside boys, playing in a U13 bracket, lost to Emerald Coast United 7-1 in the consolation game.
Perdido scored the gamewinner with four minutes left to beat Bayside 4-3. Brandon Jenkins, Graham Marcus and Josh Ceravolo all scored in the loss, which followed a scoreless tire with Emerald Coast United.
