The Gulf Breeze Dolphin baseball team dropped another close district game Thursday, losing 7-6 in 10 innings at West Florida. All four of GBHS' district losses have come by a total of eight runs. Gulf Breeze took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Kris Matsoukas walked and scored on a single by Patrick Vance. More ... The Lady Dolphin softball team rallied from two deficits to win two games early last week, but a two-run triple and a grand slam were too much to overcome in an 8-2 loss to Navarre. The Lady Raiders, who are unbeaten in district play and haven't lost to Gulf Breeze since 2000, took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a dropped fly ball and a bloop single. More ... The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin track team finished third at the 15-team Pace Patriot Invitational Thursday. Gulf Breeze finished with 65 points, only two points behind runner up Navarre. The quartet has won two state titles while at PFC and have led the Lady Dolphin soccer team to the state tournament each of the last two years.
