The Gulf Breeze Dolphin' wrestling team won the first annual Andrews Institute Christmas Invitational wrestling tournament at Gulf Breeze High on December 22. It was the first tournament the Dolphin wrestling team hosted in their five-year history. More ... The Gulf Breeze Dolphin boys basketball team won its third straight game before losing to Siegel, Tenn. in the Playground Tournament Thursday at Choctaw. Dolphins 60, Crestview 55 Gulf Breeze (9-5 as of Dec. 27) led by as many as 17 in the third quarter, but needed two free throws from David Hibberts and Matt Catellier in the final 20 seconds to beat Crestview Dec. 26. More ... The Gulf Breeze Dolphin soccer team scored three second half goals to win 3-0 at PHS on Dec. 21. The trend is becoming habit for the Dolphins - every time this season they've gone to halftime scoreless, they pulled out the win in the second half. GBHS has done it four times this season. More ... Soccer can sometimes be an ugly game and the Lady Dolphins found that out in Tallahassee on Dec. 22, losing at Lincoln 3-2. "It wasn't too pretty," coach Sharon Kerby said of the goals they allowed, but added that the two they scored were beautiful goals. More ... Jacksonville Raines used 16 second chance points and 20 points off turnovers to beat Gulf Breeze 78-55 in the opening round of the Playground Tournament Thursday at Choctaw. Raines (10-9) scored on five of its first seven possessions to take an early 11-1 lead. Jamie Beeler, who scored nine points, scored GBHS' first field goal on a three-pointer. More ... The Gulf Breeze High cross country and football teams celebrated their fall sports before heading into the winter break. The cross country teams held their banquet Dec. 12 in the cafeteria, while the football team held theirs four days later at Gulf Breeze First Baptist Church. More ... GBHS head football coach Chris Nemith (center) got one last chance to coach several of his Dolphin football players during the recent East-West All Star Game, sponsored by the Pensacola Sports Assocation.
