SRIA wants commercial leases to reopen (and generate income)
      Hurricane Ivan's affects are still impacting the operation of Pensacola Beach, as several businesses are not yet reopened. Now, members of the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) are wondering what to do about leases that are not generating revenue.

Bubba's got wishes for the new year
      It seems that the New Year is all about resolutions for most folks. I don't like resolutions. They seem to me to be hung up somewhere between a wish and hope. I don't hope for things and while I wish for them at times, I don't find them resolute. Resolutions are like speed limits, everyone will push them just as far as they can and most will break them.

Mardi Gras season kicks off Jan. 12
      The streams of "Auld Lang Syne" may still ring in our ears, but it is already time to dust off the purple and green regalia and "laissez les bon temps roulet!" to kick off Mardi Gras season. Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, fluctuates each year according to the moon phases. It is always the day before the Lenten season begins, which ends on Easter Sunday.
