An ill-fated squirrel caused quite a commotion in a normally quiet Midway neighborhood last week. The Gulf Breeze Fire Department recently purchased a new fire engine, above. The new pump truck holds 1,000 gals. of water, has a top-mount pump panel for easy and safe access in traffic and an enclosed crew cab with built-in 10 kw hydraulic generator. The $450,000 vehicle replaces a 1986 pumper which will be rehabbed or sold, according to Fire Chief Craig S. "Shane" Carmichael. More...
